AGATHA CHRISTIE -A NEW MYSTERY

This is exciting news for me as I am a big Agatha Christie fan. I love all things mystery and no one did it better than she did.

June 9) -- This fall, HarperCollins will debut two stories written by an author who died more than 30 years ago.
Two short stories written by the late Agatha Christie were discovered by John Curran, a Christie "arch-fan," while researching the author's old notebooks, according to
thebookseller.com.
Curran found the stories, which feature one of Christie's longest-running detective characters, Hercule Poirot, at Christie's family home in Devon, England.

Mystery writer Agatha Christie, here in 1957 at age 67, wrote more than 80 novels. Guinness World Records considers her the best-selling fiction author of all time.

One short story, 'The Mystery of the Dog's Ball,' became a part of the published novel 'Dumb Witness.' The other, 'The Capture of Cerberus,' was intended as a part of the 'Labours of Hercules' collection, but was eventually rewritten, under the same title. Unlike many of Christie's short stories that were spun into novels, these two writings were never published.
"It's not very often that something like this comes along," said David Brawn, publishing director of estates at HarperFiction. "It feels like a treasure trove."
Curran's book will also feature reproduced pages from Christie's notebooks and examine her creative writing process.
'Agatha Christie's Secret Notebooks: Fifty Years of Mysteries in the Making' will be published in September.
